Definitely not a Wordless post…. too many captions needed for the photos. 🙂 As some of you may or may not know, we visited Georgia over winter vacation! My parents actually came up with us, but we kind of each did our own thing since we had different things each of us wanted to see. LOL. So it was an interesting family vacation as we mainly just hung out together at night after doing different things during the day. We stayed in Gainesville, GA at a house near Lake Lanier, but visited several different places. Here are a (bit more than a) few of my favorite instagrams from the trip:
Kids in the car bright and early the morning we left! William had his seat turned forward in honor of turning 18 months old — we also thought it would be easier for a 10+ hour car ride 🙂
Pretty GA sunset on the road.
Our first very early, cold morning at the lake house. William wanted to see if Mom Mom and Papa were awake.
The view from the backyard:
Enjoying the Amicalola Falls State Park. We absolutely loved this park and look forward to the next time we get to go back. The falls were beautiful. The park also runs on the Appalachian Trail (see the marker in the photo below). We have seen markers for the trail so many times on all of our various journeys and it is always fun to know that we are on the trail. Can’t wait to come back here!
Had to take a selfie of me and Zachary. Love my iPhone case! 🙂
Back at the lake house, my dad started a fire in the fireplace. Had to take another selfie while the boys cuddled on the couch and watched Cars together. <3
Another early morning with William. We watched the sunrise from the window.
We went back to the Georgia Aquarium! We spent a couple hours there last December on the drive to my mother-and-father-in-law’s home (they live in TN) but wanted to go back now that William is a little older. We had a great time!
We had lunch at this place one day and it was SO GOOD. Big D’s BBQ in Dawsonville, GA.
It got cold while we were up there! We had to stop in Publix on one cold evening, so we wrapped little William in this hooded fleece Angry Birds blanket. He loved it!
After a little over a week, our trip was over! Here’s Adrian in the car the morning that we went home. Check out our awesome cargo holder on the roof. Both Adrian and I feel that the cargo holder gives us a big “level up” in the world of road tripping! 😉
