Driving Mr. Dead by Molly Harper

This was an adorably funny, fast-paced novella centered around Miranda Puckett, a 27 year old woman who has failed at every job she’s tried and is putting her skills at working with the undead to the test – she’s just been hired as a vampire chauffeur.

This is book #1 (or maybe 0.5) of the Half Moon Hollow series, which is a spin-off of another series by Molly Harper, and I’ve read neither series, so I wasn’t familiar with the world, but it was super easy to jump into since Miranda doesn’t seem to have been a major character.

Miranda is a spunky and fiery – but she has to drive Collin, a very demanding vampire, across the country to make a special delivery. She doesn’t particularly like his rules of the road, and after a day or two, she breaks him down until they become friendly towards each other.

Along the way they start to encounter some trouble that can only come with traveling with a vampire, and they get to know each other much better than either one could have ever imagined. The book was short but satisfying and provided lots of laughs. I’m looking forward to checking out more of Molly Harper’s books in the very near future!
