I had a great time with my husband Adrian and our son Zachary at the Renaissance Festival at Quiet Waters Park this month! This was the first time in years that Adrian has come with me, since I usually go with friends or my parents. However, it’s been a busy month and neither were available, so I asked hubby if he wanted to tag along. Although Zachary attended last year, he’s 3 now and experiences things so much differently – so I thought it would be an exciting family event for him.
It was fun to explore the shops and the interesting booths.
We also liked watching the parade and laughing at the performers! I really miss seeing the RenFaeries at the event, but many of the faeries no longer live in Florida and have started their own families, so they aren’t participating like they used to. It was great to at least wave to Staar though!
Zachary especially loved the Aviary and was really interested in all of the birds of prey. He was glued to this fence for about 5 minutes straight, just watching the birds.
I’ve been going every year since 2008, which means this is my 5th year taking photos at the Ren Fest. It was fun to see some of the “regulars” who I see year after year. The Apothecary and the Palladin Society’s booths featuring medieval life and times are among my favorites!
The Ren Fest is a great family event and I’m looking forward to it even more when Zachary is a little older since he’ll be able to ride on some of the rides. He was particularly interested in the ziplining, but obviously that’s not appropriate for a 3-year-old. 🙂 Maybe in another year we’ll ride the Sea Dragon!
We had a fabulous time and can’t wait til next year!
Disclosure: I received complimentary tickets for my family to attend the Ren Fest. All opinions and photographs are my own.
Haha is that Lucy? She comes to the PA Ren Faire too. She’s hilarious
It’s so awesome you guys are introducing Zachary to the Ren Faire early! Maybe one day he’ll dress up like a pirate or nobleman.
