Last weekend, Zachary and I checked out the Parkland Green Market. I’ve been trying to do more activities with him outdoors before it gets surface-of-the-sun hot here in South Florida, so I thought visiting farmer’s markets would be a fun thing to do since there are tons of them and they are every week. We stuck close to home last week for our first time and went to Parkland, which was a great idea since it was so cloudy, we made it out right before the downpour!
There were so many awesome vendors and fun things to see and eat, and of course tons of dogs, which Zachary just loved! We even saw a Chihuahua dog in a baby sling, which I was so amused by that I asked to take a photo. Too funny.
We loved sampling from the different vendors – there were people with hummus, guacamole, salsa, amazing bread (pictured below), hot sauce (also below). I also found a tea vendor, Cottage Garden, and purchased some Coconut Chai loose tea, which was pretty delicious! Their price was reasonable too, so I’m hoping to visit the Green Market again before they close up for the summer and snag another bag of tea.
Zachary spotted this cupcake stand, Sugar Dreams, shortly after we walked in and made a beeline for the Elmo cupcake. Of course I had to buy one for him. He absolutely loved it! He was amazed to see all of the characters that were made into cupcakes. And he looooves Elmo right now, so he was absolutely thrilled to eat this cupcake!
The folks from the Nacho Mama’s Mexican Grill food truck were there! We had seen them a couple of weeks ago at the Coral Springs GardenFest. By the time we finished walking around the market we were both hungry, so I got some cheese nachos to share with Zachary. He really enjoyed them! It was a good thing we were getting ready to go because the rain clouds were threatening overhead.
I had to commemorate our first Farmer’s Market visit with a photo. It took a few tries but I finally got Zachary to smile/laugh for the picture. What a cutie I have! 🙂

If you’d like to visit the Parkland Green Market yourself, it’s held on the 1st and 3rd Sunday each month until the end of April, and is located right off of Holmberg and Ranch Road in Parkland.
