Yep.. another garden update. I’m going to try to update my progress here to keep myself accountable for actually maintaining the thing this time around!

Here’s an iPhone Instagram shot of my baby tomatoes. How cute are they? I’m hoping that with lots of care, they grow to be a decent size. There are quite a few sprouting up all over the plant now, which is great! Tomatoes are one of my favorite healthy snacks too, so I’m looking forward to hopefully having a nice crop of these this season.

I haven’t yet gone to the nursery to look at additional plants, but I’m thinking I’ll do that with Zachary on Sunday since I have no other plans. I haven’t decided exactly what I want to add to our garden, but since I know that this nursery has such a huge selection, I’ll probably want to just choose when I get there. I know I’d like at least one or two types of hot peppers (they have a gigantic variety including some I’ve never heard of), and some more herbs. We already grow basil, rosemary, and chives, so I’m thinking I’ll add parsley and cilantro, two herbs that are great to use fresh.

I just placed an order on Amazon for some cute silicon mini pinch bowls to make cooking with chopped herbs easier (and I know Zachary can make use of these as dipping bowls too since he’s recently discovered the pleasure of dipping his foods). I also found these awesome Norpro Triple Blade Herb Scissors to facilitate the chopping, which always takes me foreeever. How cool are these?
