  1. Holy smokes, this is right up my alley! I started a new job in web/content strategy/communications for an academic department in March, and my job came with an intimidating DSLR and a photography requirement. I feel pretty competent with my digital point-and-shoot, but the DSLR overwhelms me. The pictures I’m capturing now are composed well, but I think they could get that extra “oomph” with some more training.

  2. I need this! I haven’t had any formal lessons on photography but so desparately need it. When I bought my camera, I hit the internet for all of my research, tips and tricks. It’s helped, but I know a structured workshop would help me a million times over. Pick me! Pick me!

  3. i believe…EDUCATE…EDUCATE…EDUCATE… is one of the “keys” in growing your knowledge. I have a wishlist of classes i want to take. I’d would the oppportunity to take this class.

i follow you on fb and receive your newsletter.

  4. This sounds great – I’ve been reading tutorials and playing around with settings on my camera, but I’d love some defined instruction! Thanks for a great giveaway!

  5. voted on top baby blogs (just realized according to your time zone, it appears I’m on the same day…but its definitely the next evening here!
    amber 🙂

  6. i would love to take some lessons so i could learn how to take some amazing pictures when i travel with my family.

  7. I purchased a new to me DSLR and NEED this workshop so I can get the most out of my camera! I really want to learn how to take photos of my daughter without being stuck in Auto!

  8. I just bought a DSLR camera and feel frustrated because I can’t seem to take good shots. This workshop would totally help me improve so much. I want to learn how to take scenic and portrait shots. I want to be able to take photos with confidence by applying the things I’m going to learn at the workshop.

  9. Although I am pretty comfortable with my camera there are times that a confident booster is indeed needed. This workshop would fine tune my skills and allow me to continue working on defining my style while perfecting my skills. I would love to be able to walk into a situation and automatically know the iso, ap and shutterspeed settings. I shoot in manual almost exclusively and sometimes wish in that instant I can remember the stops so that I dont miss the shot.

  10. I want to win this because I’ve never learned photography. I’ve always just been making it up as I go along and I’d love something structured to help me improve.

  11. After a life change, I splurged and bought a really nice camera. I play a lot, and take some decent landscape photos (mostly by accident!), but am not comfortable at all with portraits and would not even consider a wedding at this point! I would love to learn more and feel more comfortable with all photos.

  12. I follow all three pages on FB and voted for the blog.

I have been taking pictures for years but I have recently realized how big my love is for photography. It took me a long time to realize what I wanted to do in life and now that I know I am trying my hardest to learn everything and anything that I can that will help me build my future. I do know some stuff but I am still learning especially about lighting and workflow. I know workshops are a great way to help beginners out and this one sounds amazing. Money has been tight recently so this would definitely help me get out there and learn the things I still need to know without setting me back too much.

Thanks for this great opportunity and amazing contest!

  13. I would love to win this workshop because I want to gain the confidence to move from being an auto shooter to someone confident enough to shoot manually. This would be the *best* holiday treat ever! 🙂

  14. I’m excited about this giveaway! I recently got a Canon DSLR and I have been playing with it in my spare time (I have 3 sons so not much spare time for me!) I am hoping to learn more about using my DSLR camera so I can feel comfortable using it. I am hoping to come away from the workshop feeling confident about day and evening shots as well as creating shots that don’t need a lot of help from photoshop to be fantastic =)

  15. I’d love to win this because it has been over 10 years since I’ve had any formal photography education and I am sure I need a refresher on a number of things. Thanks!

  16. I’m going to be getting a dslr (my first!) for Christmas and I’d like to learn how to use it to it’s full “ability.” I want to leave being able to take better pictures then when I started.

  17. I want to learn how to take photos in manual! 503 workshops was one of the first workshops I found when I first got my camera.. I’ve been saving up to take one!

  18. I need this bc I’m getting a new camera for Christmas. I’d love to learn about lighting and positioning.
