Morning musings

I was looking at the calendar the other day and realizing what a crazy month this is. Last week I shot a boudoir session. Saturday I had an awesome wedding. Sunday, I recuperated. 🙂 Yesterday, I photographed a newborn session that was just beyond incredible, today I have an engagement session (please please let the weather hold up), and Thursday, I’m photographing a lovely little family and baby for their holiday pictures. Friday, I’m doing a consultation with a new wedding client, and later that night my sister-in-law, Lissa, is coming to visit for the weekend! The following Monday, I think I’ll be doing another wedding consult. Later this month, I have more photo shoots, another wedding, and I’m also volunteering to do a shoot with the Heart Gallery of Broward County (click the link to see what kind of an amazing organization they are!). Photography busy season has officially been kicked off to a huge start. I’m excited about it and inspired to CREATE.

I was looking through wedding photos from last year and reminiscing about the fun weddings I’ve had the pleasure of shooting. I realized that our cousins Stephanie & Scot’s anniversary is coming up, which is significant because last October we flew (with Zachary) to San Diego to photograph their wedding! It was Zachary’s first time on an airplane, his second time out of Florida, and it was the week we had our first family photos taken by my good friend Hillary. If you’re in SoCal and need photos, btw, make sure you call her – she’s amazing!

Zachary is such a different baby now – I mean, he’s more like a kid than a baby! A year ago, he was still crawling and was just on the cusp of taking his first steps. In fact, those steps came just a week or so after we returned home from our California vacation. He wasn’t talking much – just mama, dada, and maybe one or two other words. Now, he’s saying so many words I can no longer count them! He communicates pretty well these days. Yesterday I asked if he had a great time at school and he responded with an emphatic, “Yeah!!” He’s growing by leaps and bounds and is one of the tallest in his preschool class. He loves running around the playground and playing with other children. Last year, he was eating baby food and only a few finger foods, and now he is eating a lot of the same food as mommy & daddy and really expanding his palate! He is a very cuddly little guy and loves to hang out with his mommy, daddy, and his dog. We couldn’t have asked for a cuter, smarter, or happier little boy. I can’t believe that in just over a month he’s going to be turning two… not sure where the time has gone, but as they say – time flies when you’re having fun. We sure have been having a great time with him, and time has just flown by. Maybe it can slow down just a little bit. 🙂
