This weekend is Prom 2… I mean, my high school reunion.

+ Today I bought my first pair of high heels in something like three years. Once I stopped working outside the home, I didn’t really need heels anymore since you just need nice but very comfy shoes to be a photographer. Then I got pregnant and never wanted to wear heels again, and now that I have an adorable, active 18 month old boy, I simply CANNOT wear them since I’d fall over and break my neck trying to run in them as I chase him around the house. But, I got some pretty hawt black heels today. And why, you wonder?

+ Tomorrow is my 10 year high school reunion! I can’t believe it’s been 10 years. Rather than a boring sit-down dinner we’re doing a meet and greet type thing at a club, Pangaea, at the Hard Rock. It should be fun. There are some classmates who I am genuinely looking forward to seeing after all these years and some who I either still have no idea who they are or just don’t care about. I hope it ends up being as fun as I’m hoping.

The actual anniversary of my graduation is Sunday the 13th, which also happens to be the 30th anniversary of my parents’ very first date (happy 1st date anniversary, Mommy & Daddy!). I’m so glad they liked each other or else I wouldn’t be here. πŸ˜‰

This post is nothing without photos, so here are some pictures from high school:

My friends Lauren, Tamara, and me, hanging out at my parents house before going to a graduation party together senior year
Me with my favorite teacher, Mrs. Gandolfi. She taught Spanish and I competed in competitions from grade 10 to 12, and won many awards under her guidance! I wish I could speak Spanish now as well as I could when I was a teenager. πŸ™‚
Me and my friend Juan who attended my senior Prom with me! We had a lot of fun and I absolutely adored my dress.
Me and my friends Tamara and Dayyanah at our Prom pictured with the senior class guidance counselor, Mrs. Goode (who is rumored to be at the reunion tomorrow!).

+ I got an awesome “Mommy Care Package” today from one of my BFF’s Tamara (the same one in the above photo) — she is one of my most thoughtful friends! Tam sent me some yummy organic jams from the farmers market up in Seattle where she lives, along with some amazing loose-leaf tea (one of our shared obsessions) and some perfumes that didn’t work for her that she thought I’d love (she was right). Β Plus, an awesome art card! Now I just have to decide which of my new fragrances I want to wear to the reunion tomorrow and which of my new jams I want to eat on my toast in the morning. πŸ˜‰

+ Oh, how could I forget? Also on Sunday is the long awaited third season premiere of one of my very favorite shows, True Blood!!! Ahhhh! I am sooo excited! It would look really silly if I actually wrote out all of the exclamation points, squealing, screaming, and eeeeking that’s actually going through my head when I think about the premiere, so instead you can just imagine how crazy ridiculously excited I am. Β One of my fav celeb blogs, Accidental Sexiness, posted some True Blood picspam on their Facebook page, and this season is going to be hot hot hot!!! I can’t wait!

+ Finally, this evening was the conclusion of season 1 of Stargate Universe (aka SGU). When I first started watching it with Adrian (who is Stargate-obsessed) I wasn’t too sure, but I quickly got into it and now I’m a huge fan. We’re about to go watch it on the DVR, and I can’t wait to see how it ends! And on that note, I’m getting off the computer so I can watch it and then head off to bed for my beauty rest so I can be prepared for tomorrow’s events! πŸ˜‰

Oh, and don’t forget to enter my Buddy Fruits giveaway (ending the 14th) or my Pear Tree Greetings giveaway (ending the 23rd). And if you like my blog, please vote for me! I’ll give you a cookie…. or maybe a piece of a melting CLASS OF 2000 ice sculpture.

  1. What an exciting and happy week this has been for you. Have fun at your reunion. Enjoy all the fabulous moments you’ve shared with your friends.

  2. That was always one of the ‘problems’ with OOC – I never knew what anyone looked like. πŸ™‚ It is really cool to see who you were back then.

  3. I am so happy you enjoyed everything! You look as AMAZING in the reunion photos as you did in HS! πŸ™‚ I sort of like the Stevie Nicks-esque shawl you wore to prom now too. I must be getting old.
