Boon‘s tagline is, “innovations for modern parents” and everything they produce truly carries their distinctive style! Their company was started by a mom just trying to get her child’s bathroom organized, and it turned into so much more. The lovely people at Boon were kind enough to send me one of their Catch Bowls and a set of ModWare for review!

First off, here’s a picture of Zachary trying out his fun orange spoon and bowl for the first time:

The first thing I noticed immediately about the ModWare is how easy it is for little hands to hold! Unlike other baby “silverware” the ModWare has a great grip on it so Zachary was able to hold on to the spoon, scoop up some applesauce and direct it into his mouth. We haven’t done much in the way of teaching him to feed himself with a spoon/fork yet, though that’s something I’ll be starting soon, so I was really happy to see how easy this product was for him to use even though he’s had little to no practice.

I also really liked that the set is ergonomic and the fork didn’t have any sharp edges, so there’s no chance that a baby will accidentally poke themselves with it!

The ModWare package comes with a fun, brightly colored spoon and fork that is the perfect size for your little one’s hands as they learn to scoop food up and place it in their own mouths. The set is dishwasher safe, too, which makes this mom happy!

Since Zachary is new to feeding himself with the spoon and fork, I was pretty excited about trying out the Catch Bowl! Feedings are bound to get messy once children begin to feed themselves (this one did!) and it’s nice not to have every bit of food land on the floor, the tray, or the dog! 🙂 I was happy that the Catch Bowl did a GREAT  job catching the applesauce and very little landed on the bib that I put on just in case.

The bowl is a good size for a snack or part of a meal (I emptied a 4oz applesauce container into the bowl and probably could have added another few ounces if I really wanted). The colors are fun and interesting. I think Zachary enjoyed using such colorful set as it grabbed his interest more than the plain bowl that i usually feed him from.

The catch rim is flexible so the baby can lean right up to it, and any spills dribble back into the bowl. The Catch Bowl is also dishwasher safe, making for an easy cleanup! The bowl also has a suction cup on the bottom. In my experience, the suction pulled up a little bit and I had to adjust it two times. I wouldn’t say it really affected our use of the product though!

Here’s a photo of Zachary checking out the flexible rim… he thought it was pretty cool!

ModWare is only $4.99 and the Catch Bowl is just $6.99. You can buy both either in your favorite store or right on Boon’s website!
